The Haitian American Nurses Association (HANA) offers a prestigious scholarship annually in the fall to deserving undergraduate nursing students in the Greater New York area. This scholarship recognizes and supports a high-achieving student dedicated to the nursing profession.

If you are of Haitian descent, enrolled in an accredited program with at least three clinical rotations, maintain a strong GPA, and demonstrate a commitment to community service, we encourage you to apply. Selected scholars are honored at our annual flagship event, where they receive financial support and recognition for their achievements.

1- Prenatal care is essential for a safe and healthy delivery. Lately, a rise in maternal and infant mortality has been noticed in the US. Select two barriers and your proposed plan to address the issues.

2- According to the World Health Organization (2024), millions of people's right to health is increasingly under threat worldwide. Diseases and disasters loom large as causes of death and disability. Conflicts are devastating lives, causing death, pain, hunger, and psychological distress. At least 4.5 billion people—more than half of the world’s population—were not fully covered by essential health services. Identify two barriers to accessing quality health care and provide plausible solutions to address the barriers identified.
